This Fan Girl Visits Selhurst Park
This Fan Girl has been visiting Selhurst Park this season to talk to female Crystal Palace fans. From legendary photographer Hy Money to journalist and programme writer Lousie Court, and from Crystal Palace Ladies goalscoring legend Gemma Bryan to International Correspondent Saima Moshin, This Fan Girl has you covered.
The interviews look at the changing landscape of women both watching and working in football over the years as well as looking at the work that still needs to be done.
The video is beautifully shot and includes some great views around Selhurst Park, as well as what it sounds like outside the stadium when Palace score a goal. I highly recommend that you take 9 minutes out of your day and watch the video below.
About This Fan Girl
This Fan Girl was initially started as an ongoing photography series, aiming to change the skewed representation of female football fans. When we started this project back in 2016, a google search for the term returned only highly sexualised imagery and a depiction of females fans that we couldn't relate to. We spent the 2016/2017 visiting and photographing the incredible diversity and passion of the female fans from every club within the Premier League, culminating in an end of season exhibition.
Although we were very proud of our season's work, we knew we had more of a job to do in telling the stories as well as showing the faces of the female fan. That leads us on quite nicely to our latest video...
We've spent the last few months visiting Crystal Palace, speaking to the fans of the club and understanding why they love CPFC, and how they contribute to making the club an incredible place to be.
