With the Club spiralling towards Administration everyone was for sale, and with the departure of Attilio Lombardo already imminent, the Club accepted a £4.1m bid from Matt Jansen and the talented striker was off up North.
Jansen would appear 33 times for the Eagles, finding the back of the net on 10 occasions.
Matty is still highly thought of in SE25 and in 2017 he featured in a Cult Hero video:

Palace Manager Tony Pulis faced his former Club for the first time since his departure. With the Eagles sitting bottom of the table going into the match, the win was a much-needed one, both for the Club and for the goal scorer on the day. Jason Puncheon was fresh off of his awful penalty miss at White Hart Lane but silenced his critics with a clever finish into the far corner.
