Malcolm Allison resigned as manager of Crystal Palace.

The 1975/76 season had been by far Allison’s most successful at the Club. He didn’t get relegated for starters. However, despite making the FA Cup Semi Final against all the odds, failure to gain promotion despite being 7 points clear after 20 games (2 points for a win era) saw him resign.

Of course, Allison’s impact on the Club was felt off the pitch. As Jim Cannon once said:

Malcolm Allison put Palace on the map. No other man could single-handedly take a club from the First Division to the Third Division and still become an instant hero?"

Details of Crystal Palace’s pre-season tour is released. The tour would take Palace to the East Coast of America for fixtures against Columbus Crew, Philadelphia Union and Richmond Kickers.
